Setting Up Your Profile
Your profile is your storefront on PropPhoto. It's what real estate agents see when they're deciding who to hire. A complete, polished profile gets more bookings.
Accessing Your Profile
From your dashboard, go to Search & Discovery > Profile to enter edit mode. Your public profile lives at propphoto.com/@your-username.
Profile Completion Checklist
Your dashboard tracks your progress across six areas. Complete all of them to make your profile eligible to go public:
- Bio & social links
- Property types
- Services
- Pricing packages
- Portfolio photos
- Profile activation (set status to Public)
The dashboard shows a progress bar and checkmarks for each completed section.
Cover Photo
The cover photo is the large banner image at the top of your profile.
- Click the cover area and select an image to upload
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF
- Max file size: 2 MB
- A gradient overlay is applied automatically so text remains readable
Tip: Use a wide, high-quality image of your best work — a stunning property exterior or interior shot works well.
Profile Photo (Avatar)
Your profile photo appears overlapping the cover image. It's the first thing agents notice.
- Click Change Photo to upload a new image
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF
- Your avatar border color changes based on your status:
- Amber border — Featured in search
- Blue border — Verified photographer
- Gray border — Standard profile
Display Name
Your display name appears prominently on your profile and in search results.
- Hover over your name and click the Edit button
- Type your business or personal name
- Click the checkmark to save, or X to cancel
Starting Price
Your starting price helps agents quickly understand your rate range.
- Click Edit next to your price
- Enter your base rate (numeric value in USD)
- Click the checkmark to save
This appears on your profile card in search results, so set it to the lowest price you'd charge for a basic shoot.
Bio
Your bio is where you tell agents about your experience, style, and what sets you apart.
- Click Edit in the About section
- Write your bio in the text area
- Max length: 500 characters (a live counter shows remaining characters)
- Click Save when done
Tips for a strong bio:
- Mention your years of experience
- Highlight your specialties (luxury homes, commercial, aerial)
- Note your equipment and editing style
- Keep it professional but personable
Service Areas (Regions)
Service areas tell agents where you're available to shoot. At least one region is required.
- Click the location edit button in your sidebar
- A dialog opens showing your current service areas
- Use the dropdown to select regions (states/areas)
- Click Add Service Area to add more regions
- Click the delete button to remove a region (you must keep at least one)
- Your plan determines how many service areas you can add — the dialog shows your usage (e.g., "2 / 5")
- If you've reached your limit, click Upgrade Plan to unlock more

- Amber — 80–99% of your limit
- Red — At or over your limit
If you've reached your limit, an Upgrade Limit button appears instead of Add Photos.
Removing Photos
Hover over any image and click the delete button to remove it.
Tips:
- Lead with your absolute best shots
- Show variety — interiors, exteriors, aerials, twilight
- Only upload final, edited images
- Quality over quantity
Property Types
Property types tell agents what kinds of properties you specialize in — residential, commercial, luxury, etc.
- Click Edit in the Property Types section
- A dialog shows all available property types in a grid
- Click any type to toggle it on/off (selected types show a green checkmark)
- Select as many as apply

- Click to toggle selection (green checkmark = selected)
- Use Clear all to deselect everything and start fresh
- Click Save
Your selected services also become available when creating pricing packages.
Pricing Packages
Packages make it easy for agents to understand exactly what they get and at what price. You can create up to 3 packages.

- Click Add Package
- A new card appears in edit mode with these fields:
| Field | Required | Details |
|---|---|---|

Deleting a Package

Package Display
Packages are automatically sorted by price (lowest first) on your public profile. Each package shows:
- Package name and price
- Delivery time (if set)
- Description
- List of included services with checkmarks
- Additional features with checkmarks
- A Book This Package button for agents
Tips:
- Offer tiered pricing (e.g., Basic, Standard, Premium) so agents can choose what fits their budget
- Include at least one affordable option — it lowers the barrier to booking
- Be specific about deliverables in the features list
- Only services already on your profile can be added to packages
Profile Status
Your profile has three statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not visible to anyone. Use this while setting up. |
| Inactive | Not visible in search. Existing clients can still access your profile via direct link. |
| Public | Visible in search results and to all users. |
Going Public
Before setting your status to Public, your profile must meet these requirements:
- Bio is filled in
- At least 1 property type selected
- At least 1 service selected
- At least 1 pricing package created
- Portfolio photos uploaded
- At least 1 service area set
If any requirement is missing, you'll see a toast notification listing what still needs to be completed.
Sharing Your Profile
Below your bio, you'll find share buttons to promote your profile:
- Twitter/X — Shares a pre-formatted tweet with your profile link
- Facebook — Opens a share dialog with your URL
- LinkedIn — Opens a share dialog with your URL
- Copy Link — Copies your profile URL to clipboard (shows a green checkmark for confirmation)
The share text includes your name and location: "Check out Your Name's real estate photography portfolio in Location on PropPhoto"
Section Navigation
On desktop, a sticky navigation bar appears at the top of your profile content with buttons for:
Portfolio | Property Types | Services | Packages
Click any button to smooth-scroll to that section. The active section highlights in emerald as you scroll.
